Here's How:
  1. Know your skill level.
  2. Know your market.
  3. Figure time/materials.
  4. Add what you think the job/piece is worth.
  5. Check around to see what similar work is selling for.
  6. Try to find out what the budget of customer is for art purchases.
  7. Figure price based on time, materials, skill level, estimated amount customer is willing to spend and going prices for geographical area.
  8. Be prepared to negotiate.
  9. Decide on an amount that you will not go below.
  10. If customer insists on a lower price than your minimum, just say no.
  11. Stick with your minimum.
  12. Be prepared to say "No, thank you".

Tips:
  1. Do not let customer control the price.
  2. Be polite but firm.
  3. Never ever do art for friends or relatives if you want to get paid!
